Multifocal Dysembryoplastic Neuroepithelial Tumour with Intradural Spinal Cord Lipomas: Report of a Case
نویسندگان
چکیده
We report a case of temporal lobe epilepsy and incomplete Brown-Sequard syndrome of the thoracic cord. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging showed multiple supratentorial masses with the classical radiological appearances of multifocal dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour (DNET). Spinal MR imaging revealed intradural lipomas, not previously reported in association with multifocal DNET. Presentation and imaging findings are discussed along with classification and natural history of the tumour.

Multifocal Dysembryoplastic Neuroepithelial Tumour: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour (DNET) is an unusual brain tumour occurring commonly in younger age groups. We report a case of medically resistant epilepsy in a young male that was radiologically diagnosed of having the typical features of DNET at multiple locations. The clinical features and imaging findings of the multifocal DNET has been discussed along with review of literature.
متن کاملIntraspinal Lipomas Without Associated Spinal Dysraphism
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to report surgical strategies and clinical outcomes for thoraco-lumbar intradural lipomas. Intraspinal lipomas are rare congenital histologically benign neoplasms, which account for less than 1% of all spinal cord tumors. These tumors are most frequently found in the lumbosacral area as components of a dysraphic state, however, intramedullary lipomas are n...
متن کاملDiffuse Ependymal Dysembryoplastic Neuroepithelial Tumor Causing Spinal Drop Metastases: A Case Report
Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNETs) arise mostly in the supratentorial cerebral cortex. A very rare case of intraventricular DNET with diffuse ependymal involvement, which causes spinal drop metastasis, is presented.
متن کاملMature Cystic Teratoma of Spinal Cord in A 16-Year-Old Male: A Case Report
Teratoma is a type of multipotential cell tumor, which includes a mixture of two or three germinal layers of ectodermis, endodermis, and mesodermis. Although neonatal sacrococcygeal teratoma has been frequently reported, its occurrence in older age is not common. In this study, we report a rare case of spinal intradural mature cystic teratoma in a 16-year-old male, emphasizing on considering th...

Dermal sinus tracts are found along the midline neuroaxis from the nasion to the coccyx, but they most commonly appear in the lumbar region.1 Dermal sinus tracts are more commonly associated with other developmental abnormalities such as skin tags, naevi, spinal dermoid cysts, meningocoele, lipomas ...
